For that eventuality we have developed hydraulic emergency shutdown systems with an integrated or remotely located powerpack. In the event of power failure the emergency operation is guaranteed because hydraulic oil is stored under pressure in the accumulator. In this configuration the valve automatically goes to its safe position after such a failure. Our hydraulic ESD systems provide the required reliability and speed in complete accordance with Shell DEP and SIL applications.
